Casting LOUP

Have been thinking about doing a pod cast here lately. I know — that ship has sailed. Everyone has done the podcast thing and the excitement is over. BUT — no one is doing regular podcasting anymore and those who are trying it aren’t doing it on anything I care about. Seems like only professional channels, and people are left.

I am not sure what I would do — bunch all of my ideas and thoughts into one regular show that talks about me and my life (fibro, animals, rving, wolves, tattoos, music etc.) or parse it out to separate casts – one for fibro and health stuff, one about animals, rving etc.

Thoughts?

A good way to find out what is in the products you use as well as how well the manufacturer is doing at providing a safe product.

Uncle is doing well. He goes home today. He is in good spirits and they are pretty confident no surgery will be needed. YAY.

The new laptop is dreamy. The keys are so smooth and comfy. I am still trying to find a pink skin for it because what they think is artsy sea-scape just makes me hurl.

The free shipping stuff to send the other laptop back to HP will be here next week. LK is going to put it in the truck for road tripping and such I believe.  We are such geeks.

Thanks for the vibes re: my uncle.

HP Special Edition Pavilion

I had pretty much decided to just run my dying HP until the legs fell off. But LK took me to BestBuy and said “of this, this and this one – pick the one you want”. Yes, I am aware that I am spoiled.

I even looked at Macs — BUT 1.2 ghz and 120 GB hard drive just will not cut it.

PROS – this HP has 400GB hard drive, 4GB memory ( expandable to 8 ) and AMD Turion x2 Ultra processors — so I can blog in style and with wicked speed. = )

CONS – It isn’t PINK. wtf HP … how much do I have to bitch before you make a pretty laptop. The keys aren’t backlit. And I haven’t gotten everything set up the way I want but that always takes me a few days.

I know some of you are disappointed in me for not going the way of the mac but I fear change. Maybe one day Macs will be cool enough for me to get one. *grins*

On another note .. if I disappear for a few days from Jabber and FB — I am fine. BUT my uncle is in the hospital with some pretty serious heart shit going on so I may be in Ohio at a moments notice. Right now doctors are saying it isn’t life threatening but since I think it is all guesswork in a white coat — I will be ready to leave at a moments notice.

lap top blues

So my current HP (about 3 years old) has been having fits and showing its age. Part of me wants to go out and just get a new laptop but after looking at them in the store I am leaning more to desktop built from scratch.

It is a luxury item I know but — not for me. I don’t watch television. I don’t own a closet full of trendy shoes and bags. I spend my leisure time, work time and study time on the computer.

So if this one dies — I will NEED a replacement. I have the MSI for school but it doesn’t do everything.

I feel bad spending the money on a new laptop … so any thoughts?

good bye to the Instinct.

I was smitten with the Instinct when I first got to play with it. It was just amazing to me. But I fell out of love quickly. iphone killer my butt.

It had so many things that I ended up hating about it. I don’t even want to go into it!! But I am glad it is gone. I am using the old SCH A640 clamshell. Yes I hated that fuckin’ instinct so much that I went back to a 5 year old clamshell. Sprint won’t give me a free cheapo phone – even though I have complained out the butt over this phone.

LK won’t go to AT&T at all — so the only hope of getting an iphone is to get a used one and just use it as a media center like the ipod touch but with a camera and voice recording … it will have to do. = )

I can have a crappy phone – for as much as I use the phone. Maybe 20 minutes a month … maybe??

Anyhow I am just glad that part of my tech life is over with. Good Riddance — what was Samsung thinking?

I had to run into town to pick up snacks for the road trip and my meds. I started to get a hunger headache — what I get for skipping breakfast. I find myself thinking Arby’s. The guy at the window was the Manager – a nice guy. Hispanic, older fella – he cracks me up every time I see him. Yea, we think Arby’s a lot around here.  Well here I am sitting in my car, enjoying the warm and muggy weather … (no, not really).  He leans out and asks – “You like your car?” I smile and quietly say yes. He smiles big and says (imagine a cross between George Lopez and Cheech. “No, I know you really like your car — it has HEMI.” He asks me if I mind telling him how much. Now — I don’t brag about car or house notes. They are part of life and I hate them.

I drive a fierce, brilliant black muscle car with more horse power than my IQ, weight and age combined. This bitch has so much romp off the line that she will damn near break your neck if you aren’t payin’ attention. Yes, she sucks 2x as much gas as a Prius. But we didn’t get her for the MPG. The car note reflects all of that — it’s not like the note I had on the Dodge Neon I had – but it ain’t a NEON either.

Now, we aren’t rich either. HELLO — if we were — we wouldn’t have car notes. Right?

So when he asks “What is the payment — how much you pay? – Maybe cinco – five hundred??” I just tell him — I think with gas, insurance and the note it’s about 8″ … Without taking a breath or missing a beat he blurts out –

“EIGHT — I think maybe your husband, he love you too much!”

I just smiled. It is true. My husband does love me too much – I am spoiled there is no doubt.
