On Facebook there is a program called “Save a Dog” and you can virtually foster a shelter dog and help find it a forever home. You earn points for activities and those points add up to money donated to shelters to help feed these dogs. Very Cool.
If you haven’t already I urge you to join. For now check out the dogs at Orange County NC Shelter that available to go home.

LK and I are heading to Charlotte next Sunday to meet Dakota. He is a husky/shepherd mix that I fell in love with on Petfinder. He is about 1 year old and would make a great service dog as far as size / height goes. Now we just have to see if the girls approve.
It would mean a lot of training and a lot more dog hair around the homestead but I think Max would approve. It has been 3 years and I am ready for another big, goofy, lug to occupy my heart.
Save a life .. ADOPT!

It has been cold and rainy here lately. But today it looks like it might improve. Beautiful day for laying out in the sun and reading. Too bad I have oodles to get done. My aunt and uncle are still in for a visit so we have projects going on. Dazy (their new dog) is such a sweetheart. She is like a dog only smaller. She weighs 7 lbs. I can’t imagine having a dog that small around full time. I would step on her.
Korkie and Cinder love visitors. Last week their Aunt Molly and Uncle Jay came by for a few days with TREATS and a Kona Bean. We had a blast. I love our friends. Wish we could do nothing but visit friends in rotation. Silly job – crazy bills. Oh well — full-timing in the RV does allow more freedom than most people have so I am grateful.
Enjoy your humpday.

After 2 vet visits and 5 pills a day … things may be on the up swing. I don’t have a lot of details. But as soon as I know more I will let you in.
She had a biopsy and xrays, ultrasound — her stomach is distended with what appears to be food. Nothing foriegn. She is passing food now — but she is not 100% and grumpy. If someone shaved off half my hair in a weird pattern I would be grumpy too. = ) But her belly looks so smooth and cute. I just wanna raspberry it.
Keep your paws crossed.

It went from warm and sunny days to cold and rainy to cold and sunny. Ick. The leaves are still green for the most part. This is my first Autumn in North Carolina.
The cold isn’t helping me pain wise – but I am going to the pool 2x a week and working out. I am up to a full exercise plan doing about 15 reps each. Thankful that they all take place in the warm water.
My pain specialist is in agreement that we will wait until my next appointment to really see what the nerve block did/didn’t do. Next step is burning the nerves. With RF technology but burn nonetheless.
Thanks to Twila and her BFF Bev I have plants now. They liven my work area up. And my Aunt brought down two small “barrel” chairs that have low backs – they have brightened up the place.
We found compact fluorescent bulbs that replace halogen bulbs. There are 6 lamps in the RV that use halogen. They suck the energy and heat the place up. Not to mention they are spot light bright. We are making some changes that make this place more of a home to us. We both agree that moving to the RV is still the best thing ever. Only problem is I am having a hard time seeing a Rottweiler being comfy in such tight spaces and I would love to share my home with another Rottie – I miss Max. I know no dog will ever replace him. But this is the longest I have gone since my first Rottie in 1989.

It is a quarter after 3 and I have slept maybe an hour? At about 3 I couldn’t stand it anymore and just got up – something I should have done hours ago. I am not sure why tonight I can’t sleep, it might have something to do with Max, Korkie and LK snoring in unison. Then again it just may be plain ol’ insomnia. I am betting a little of both.

What is the point of having wireless connectivity and a back deck if you can’t enjoy them both at the same time? Max and I are lounging about while Korkie is making her rounds. She checks the perimeter and watches over the dragonflies.

Life is good.
