The ETrade baby commercials are a big hit in this house. We randomly quote them. I am not sure why but when LK does his “Mikey” (the baby from the airplane who thinks the pilot is his dad) it cracks me up. Like almost wet myself funny.

He throws it out there at random moments so I never know when to expect it but it makes me smile.

Bear Needs Saving

Bear Grylls new show … LK and I used to joke when they were dropping Bear to remote locations “Drop his ass in Compton and see how he does.”

Well … we got our wish — Worst Case Scenario is like that and frankly, I liked him better eating Elephant shit and biting into the backs of live fish. That’s saying something.

Someone save Bear from this awful show and himself. Bear, you don’t go into the ‘hood and say “Boy this sure is slippy.” SLIPPY … Seriously?

In Iron Man GP had packed on a few curves and didn’t look like a 14 year old boy much to my surprise and enjoyment. But alas, guess she dropped the baby weight and it is back to rail thin and no ass for her.

Not too much of a problem as Mrs. Ryan Reynolds provided curves a plenty.

Mickey Rourke pulled off skeezy Russian dude with no problems but I still love him.

Where the fuck was Terrence Howard? Don’t get me wrong I love Don Cheadle but WTF people … Terrence Howard did good. I wanted to see HIM fly around and kick ass …. dammit.

Does anyone else confuse Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury with the afro’d gimp in Shamalamadingdongs Unbreakable?? Anyone? Guess I am not a comic book geek after all.

Well I am glad I saw it on the big screen … but it wasn’t something I would want to watch over again. I really liked Iron Man better. More RDJ all sweaty and dirty — sexay bitch. Terrence Howard, GP’s Ass … yup that about covers it.

OH … last let down … all of the ads for the R8 V10 … it wasn’t another character in the flick, you got to see it like 3 times. It didn’t do any tricks or look any cooler than in the ads … but damn if I don’t want one. Audi, you know the Germans make good stuff. = )

Casting LOUP

Have been thinking about doing a pod cast here lately. I know — that ship has sailed. Everyone has done the podcast thing and the excitement is over. BUT — no one is doing regular podcasting anymore and those who are trying it aren’t doing it on anything I care about. Seems like only professional channels, and people are left.

I am not sure what I would do — bunch all of my ideas and thoughts into one regular show that talks about me and my life (fibro, animals, rving, wolves, tattoos, music etc.) or parse it out to separate casts – one for fibro and health stuff, one about animals, rving etc.

Thoughts?

I always thought that David Carradine was going to die a quiet death in the middle of meditation just after some Tai Chi or flute player.

“Naked, hanging in a closet with a rope attached to his neck and penis.”

Looks like he may have died from suffocation or a heart attack from orgasm.

Gives new visual to Bangkok Dangerous.

At any rate – a fine actor, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever seen that he has been part of – he will be missed.

But seriously … rope from penis to neck? Who does that? Wouldn’t it chafe??

20 years later

When you are back in town all sorts of strange things happen. Like you find out the car you crushed over in high school is still owned and loved by the same guy. That is good to know.

I have been having some odd feelings being here. Old memories but no attachment like it is home.

We saw my cousin at the ice cream stand with his boys and their softball team getting after game ice cream and rolled down the window to chat a bit and the 4 way stop. Feel so local.

Small town life isn’t bad. But I am glad I am not here every day anymore. With small town life comes small minds.

I am glad that I did most of my growing up in Germany and areas where variety was the spice of life.  But as I get older, it is nice to some times look back and be grateful for what I have now.

To think in high school I was the slacker girl, my “popular” cousins shunned me because I didn’t do or say the right things — they are still here and never got very far away from their beginning. My beginning is long behind me and I am growing and moving forward with every step.  I have my mom and dad to thank for that. Mostly Mamma for seeing that this was no place to raise a child. = )

PS .. Terminator Salvation was a snorrer. Could “Marcus” have looked anymore like Billy Ray Cyrus. ICK!

collateral

My boy Jason got my hopes up for this flick by appearing early on … I was let down … then I see Peter and I think — well maybe there is hope yet. No, there was no hope. Go see The Bourne Supremacy again and call it a day. The best scenes in Collateral are shown in the trailer for it. Save your money.
They tried so hard not to be predictable with this flick that it was like someone was reading the script outloud in my head and they were always one scene ahead of the movie.
Even though I got to see Jason and Peter I made LK take me to Samurai for dinner to make up for his picking the flick.

movie night

Last night LK and I went to see The Bourne Supremacy. It didn’t suck ass. But there is one complaint I have … has nothing to do with the actors, plot or action. All of that was fine for a “part 2″ … but the camera jiggling was INSANE. LK said he thinks it was part of the film to show the “intensity” … I think they were just too cheap to get the steady cams!! I almost yakked a couple of times. If you are prone to seizures — don’t go and see this movie.
Other notes .. Franka was looking pretty hot. Matt got ripped!! I still love Brian Cox.
And I fucking miss living in Germany!!
