I know a lot of coffee junkies. The kind of people that don’t consider themselves awake or even alive until after their second cup. I don’t get it. I have had a damn fine cup of joe and still prefer tea.
Being in the south sweet tea is the king but also not for me. I do enjoy a ice cold glass of unsweetened tea, with no lemon please. The only time I use Splenda is if I am out and the tea is, for the lack of a better word, stale.
I love herbal teas, flavored teas, loose tea, plain old pekoe. Iced, hot … it is all good.
We have a shop here called “A Southern Season” … you know a lot of girls go crazy over a new pair of shoes — this shop allows me to get that crazy over tea!
You have your choice of boxed tea – Lipton, Republic of Tea, Tazo and so on. But the real find are the loose teas. Nothing better than taking a nice black tea and mixing it with something light and fruity to come out with the best glass or cup of tea you’ve had in a while. Cherry and Black make a nice afternoon snack tea. Orange and Pekoe is good for a wake up.
White teas are nice dessert or hot summer day teas. Red tea makes a great tea “espresso”.
What kind of tea do you like?

I’ve had a twitter account for a while but just never got into it. Today I decided to shit or get off the pot. I am following some interesting people and I hope to be able to remember to tweet at least once a day. It will be like the blog .. random stuff. Hockey, fibro, travel, quotes .. so if you are part of the twitterverse look me up. I am @lehnannek
See you out there.

Don’t let the door hit you on your way out!! Yesterday we opened up the windows and they are still open. I love this weather. Good sleeping weather — good everything weather. I can finally wear all of the cute socks I bought recently.

Since we moved to NC I have been seeing these blue and black stickers. I thought we had a lot of BDSM peeps around.
Turns out it is some “thin blue line” show of support sticker for the police.

I know it is a little different than the BDSM pride sticker … but support your local law enforcement was not the first thing that popped into my brain when I saw it.
You see how one could think it was just a smaller version of the BDSM … but ya never know I think most cops have bondage issues anyhow.

Maybe I will start a dream journal. Some of these could be good ideas for stories or movies!!
Short version: I am stealing cars – but only to move them a block down or one parking aisle over. Then watching the reaction of the people as they come to the realization that their car has been stolen. Even better that it hasn’t been “stolen” but maybe they are just crazy.
Crazy.
Welcome to my world.

Well gang — like I said Charley didn’t do much around here. (When I say around here I mean my yard — I don’t watch the local news all that much so for all I know Norfolk could be gone.)
The water pooled up a little in the front yard under the tree but as soon as it stopped raining it went away. Same goes for the puddle in the low lying area of the back yard. The marsh water did rise but not above the grass line, but I heard that there was less than a foots diffence between yesterday and normal. Guess we will have to wait for a bigger storm to see if we float away here.
I did have a strange dream last night and I think I was sleepwalking .. well sort of. I remember “waking up” from the dream and wandering around the house looking for LK. Then I sat down at my computer – I don’t remember what I did. I don’t think I emailed anyone or anything … but you never know about these things.

Well Charley is here … we got quite a bit of rain from Alex last week but nothing more than your average summer thunderstorm in Hampton Roads. Right now the winds are howling and the dogs are BEGGING to go outside. It has been rainy pretty steadily since last night.
This morning LK and I ran over to Radio Shack for some stuff to finish running wires in the house and we saw crazy people everywhere. Batteries were flying off of the shelf at Radio Shack, so were flash lights. There was even a woman at PetsMart stocking up on pet food. Oddly enough there wasn’t a crowd at Michael’s. I would think if you were stuck in your home for days on end crafty stuff to do may be a fun diversion. I didn’t find the candle holders for the patio that I went in there looking for but ah well … maybe tomorrow.
I don’t expect Charley to do too much — not like it did in Florida anyhow. Things should be back to as normal as they get around here by tomorrow.

I have been unpacking boxes and files and putting things away like a crazy lady today. (In between drinking hot tea, listening to Patsy Cline and Jack Johnson and looking out my window at the birds … did I mention how many birds there are here …)
I came across a catchall box that had a little bit of everything in it. Among the broken mini-leatherman, an electric bill from 1994, and a coupon for a free night at the movies that expired last year I found a card I sent LK during his first deployment … almost 7 years ago.
It has Garfield on the front and say “When life is getting you, sometimes it helps to seek out one of those cheery people who NEVER stop smiling … and KICK their butt clear into next week!”
I’d say it is still good advice. . . there is nothing wrong with being happy but perky and cheery is just WRONG.
